09 Jun SMIRNOFF DREAM WEEKEND RETURNS TO NEGRIL THIS SUMMER
Kingston’s Dream Team is back at it again this Emancipation/Independence holiday week, bringing a whole new way to party on the shores of the Caribbean’s most popular island. The Smirnoff Dream Weekend – a weeklong series of top notch events – is scheduled to take over Negril this August 1-6. The annual music festival is a Jamaican innovation conceptualized by a solid, organized team of Jamaica’s most popular parties’ promoters and backed by Diageo’s Smirnoff Vodka. Together, they have strategically and successfully promoted Jamaica’s fiercely popular entertainment scene for the last 5 years in a row on huge levels, both internationally and locally. Every summer, like clockwork, tens of thousands of music-loving tourists flock to Negril and jam the beach-lined boulevard of Jamaica’s west end.
9 EVENTS IN 6 DAYS
One particular quality of Smirnoff Dream Weekend that keeps the patrons coming back and getting the good word out is the consistently great mix of events that’s produced specifically for Negril every year. With decades of experience under their belt, the Dream Team knows how to put on a good show and this year, will tie 9 different events into one big party. The “weekend” kicks off on Friday, August 1st with Beach Rave, a high energy EDM event, after which patrons will dance over to D.A.R.K. Entertainment’s Twisted Spiritz’s masquerade themed night party. On Saturday, August 2nd, only 2 parties and 1 rest into the week and ankle deep in the sand, Wright Image’s Daydreams, White on White party on the beach heats up at 2pm followed by everyone’s favourite 90s party, YUSH where it’s all about the music, no long talking. Sunday brings the #1 water party in the country, Xtreme Wet ‘n’ Wild at the Kool Runnings Water Park and when the sun goes down, it’s all about the ultimate sound clash vibe and dancehall mania, Beer Vibes. Up next? Monday, August 4th. Smirnoff Xclusive. The name says it all; red & white and elite. On the other hand, a Caribbean music festival wouldn’t be complete without a bout of Soca! Check out Miami Dream J’ouvert where everybody gets painted after Xclusive! Patrons will get a chance to rest on Tuesday before the who’s who of Jamaica’s dancehall scene represent on stage well into the wee hours at Dream Live on August 5th. Finally, Igloo, with its BYOB concept, great music and fresh vibe, ends the Smirnoff Dream Weekend on a high note on August 6th.
